Explora Journeys is unveiling new itineraries for winter destinations in 2026-27.
Sailing between October 2026 and May 2027, the Explora Journeys winter destinations cruises will be offered aboard Explora I, Explora II and Explora III.
Explora I will spend the winter in the Caribbean, as well as Central and South America—including journeys deep into the heart of the Amazon.
Explora II will explore the Arabian Peninsula while sailing the Red Sea. And the line’s newest ship, Explora III, will sail around the Caribbean and Central America before transiting the Panama Canal and exploring the Pacific coast of North America.
Travelers can also celebrate New Year’s Eve with fireworks on all three ships: Explora I and Explora III will be in San Juan Bay, Puerto Rico, and Explora II will be in the Arabian Gulf near Dubai.

Explora Journeys has selected marine environmentalist Rosalba Giugni to be the godmother of Explora II.
Giugni will officially name the ship at a ceremony in Civitavecchia near Rome, Italy, on September 15. The naming ceremony will take place after the cruise line takes delivery of the vessel at the Fincantieri shipyard in Sestri Ponente near Genoa, Italy, on September 12.
Explora II will be the second ship to join the company’s fleet. The first, Explora I, recently celebrated its one-year anniversary.

Giugni is the founder and president of the Marevivo Foundation, an organization founded in 1985 that supports the preservation of marine environments. Today, the Marevivo Foundation has more than 30,000 members and plays a key role in the Italian environmental sector. The organization has had a partnership with the MSC Group and the MSC Foundation since 2019.
“I am pleased to support Explora Journeys and the MSC Group in promoting and advancing a cultural shift towards greater protection of our precious marine ecosystem,” says Giugni. “Our future is tied to the health of the sea, and its wellbeing depends on the choices we make. The climate crisis is a clear warning: we are out of time. The ecological transition needs to begin now, tomorrow may already be too late.”
After the naming ceremony on September 15, Explora II will depart on her maiden journey, a 7-night sailing to Tarragona, Spain, with stops in Sorrento, Lipari (Aeolian Islands), Trapani (Sicily) and Siracusa (Sicily) in Italy and Valletta, Malta.
