Tour operator G Adventures has launched an all-new travel style created just for solo travelers, Solo-ish Adventures, which offers ample community tourism experiences and ways to combat what has been called a “loneliness epidemic.”
Solo-ish Adventures offers solo travelers a way to seek out personal growth and connection in a safe way as they travel. The new style currently offers thirteen trips around the globe, from Costa Rica to Peru to India and Vietnam. The earliest tours depart in March, 2025.
The tours are strategically created differently: on day one, solo travelers enjoy a dinner party and culinary experience to bond them together over a local meal. The second day, called a “We Day,” is a day that grows that bond through communal experiences, like visiting a cafe in Athens that supports the homeless community or a Taekwondo lesson in South Korea. The third day, “G Day,” offers special, G Adventures-exclusive experiences that will stick with the group for the rest of their lives, such as kayaking with penguins in Cape Town or dining in Jaipur’s Amber Fort.
The Solo-ish Adventures also include ample free time, including a “Me Day,” for travelers to explore on their own, female-only CEOs (chief experience officers) who are dedicated to providing a safe environment for all travelers, complimentary arrival transfers and up to 50 percent off “My Own Room” for travelers wanting to upgrade to their own room.
“We’ve seen a rise in the more mature traveler, who is no longer willing to wait for a partner, friends or family to book an adventure,” said Yves Marceau, VP of product at G Adventures. “Whether it’s a life-changing event, a desire for something new, or just an itch to go out and experience the world, solo travelers are one of the fastest growing demographics in the travel industry.
“Many are still seeking the connection that comes with a group, and this is where Solo-ish shines. With no upper age limit, Solo-ish is open to everyone who wants to experience the adventure of a lifetime, while making some truly special friendships and memories along the way.”
