Grupo Vidanta, known for its collection of resort hotels across Mexico, is expanding into the world of cruising.
In early 2025, the VidantaWorld arm of the 50-year-old company will launch a luxury, adults-only mega yacht named Elegant. Bookings are now open for the vessel’s inaugural sailings in the Caribbean and the Mediterranean.
The company had previously announced its expansion into cruising, with Elegant originally scheduled to debut in April 2022. But now the vessel is slated to launch next year.
The 500-foot yacht has 149 staterooms and suites, six public decks, multiple pools and jacuzzis, 13 restaurant and lounges, a full-service spa and onboard entertainment offerings. The recently refurbished yacht has been designed by architects Rockwell Group and SMC Design. Maritime operations will be run by Bernhard Schulte Shipmanagement Cruise Services (BSM Cruise).
Before the vessel officially debuts next year, it will offer a series of one-night voyages for guests of Vidanta Riviera Maya in November and December. Additional preview itineraries will also be added in the future.
