American Indian Heritage Month – American Indians were a regular and frequent presence in 18th-century Williamsburg and had an influence on American culture, democracy, and its struggle for independence. Join us in commemoration of American Indian Heritage Month and experience a variety of special programming throughout the Historic Area and Art Museums.

Grand Illumination Weekends, December 7, 14 & 21 – Join our community as we celebrate the holiday season with three Grand Illumination weekends. Yuletide entertainment will include favorite holiday traditions, as well as heartwarming new additions to the festivities.

Talk of the Town: Christmastide – With an 18th-century resident as your guide, walk about and experience the Christmastide season through their eyes in Williamsburg – where it all began!

Holiday Dancing at the Governors Palace – Experience a favorite pastime of colonial Virginians during the holidays. Dancers discuss various types of 18th-century dances and demonstrate them for the audience.

Locations include the Colonial Williamsburg Regional Visitor Center, the Lumber House, and the Art Museums of Colonial Williamsburg. All guests in party must be present to receive their free admission ticket. Only one per person. This offer is only available to active duty Military, Reservists, Retirees, Veterans, National Guardsmen (and their dependents) with proper ID, which includes a Department of Defense photo ID or DD Form 214. Military veterans who separated before retirement can bring a copy of their honorable discharge paperwork, DD Form 214, as identification of service. If the service member happens to be deployed, dependents may take advantage of the offer without their service member, though an adult must accompany minor dependents, and dependent ages 10 and over must present valid dependent ID.
