Want to spend your retirement years living on a cruise ship? Residential cruise line Villa Vie Residences is offering a new Golden Passport, which provides access to a lifetime of travel at sea for a one-time fee.
The Golden Passport is an offshoot of the brand’s permanent residence-at-sea program, Endless Horizon. However, the latest offering features an age-tiered pricing model, with the one-time payment ranging from $99,999 to $299,999.
“As people retire, one of their biggest fears is outliving their money. With the Golden Passport, that uncertainty disappears—one payment secures a lifetime of adventure,” says Mike Petterson, founder of Villa Vie Residences. “Our age-tiered pricing ensures that Endless Horizons is no longer just a dream for the few, but an attainable reality for many.”
Travelers get transferable access across the Villa Vie Residences fleet, which for now just includes one ship, the Villa Vie Odyssey. The program includes all dining, housekeeping, laundry, internet, entertainment and annual medical check-ups, as well as wine or beer with meals. Port taxes and service charges are also included.
By living on a cruise ship, guests of Villa Vie Residences can enjoy the line’s continuous circumnavigations of the globe, which each last between three and three-and-a-half years and include visits to all seven continents.
“Life moves quickly, and the regret most people share is that they didn’t travel the world when they had the chance,” says Kathy Villalba, chief executive officer of Villa Vie Residences. “The Golden Passport makes that dream possible—and affordable—in a way the cruise and travel industries have never seen before.”
