Taiwan New Requirement for Travelers: Travelers to Taiwan are required to complete a digital arrival card before departure, beginning October 1, 2025.
The new requirement eliminates the option of completing a paper version and is designed to streamline the entry process while ensuring safety and security.
How to Complete Your Taiwan Arrival Card
Taiwan New Requirement for Travelers: Travelers heading to Taiwan can visit the Ministry of the Interior National Immigration Agency, Republic of China (Taiwan) website to complete and submit their arrival card within three days before they arrive.
Users will have the option to submit or update an existing arrival card and will require a valid passport and email address in addition to their occupation, phone number and travel itinerary information such as accommodation confirmation.
Taiwan continues to be among the hottest destinations in Asia post-pandemic, attracting nearly 8 million international visitors last year.
What’s more, the U.S. has emerged as Taiwan’s fourth-largest international visitor market heading into the final months of 2025.

Per the US State Department’s website:
If you wish to enter Taiwan as a tourist or short-term visitor (less than 90 days), you do not need a visa. No extensions or changes of status are permitted. For visa-waiver travel, your U.S. passport must be valid through the number of days you intend to stay. Six-month passport validity is not required.
If you plan to stay longer than 90 days or plan to work or reside in Taiwan, you need a Taiwan visa prior to traveling. Visit the website for the Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office (TECRO) in the United States for the most current visa information.
Taiwan and the United States both allow dual nationality. If you have dual Taiwan-U.S. nationality, you must enter/exit Taiwan on your Taiwan passport and enter/exit the United States on your U.S. passport.
