Wellness-Focused All-Inclusive Travel
For a growing share of travelers, “unwinding” no longer means a single spa afternoon squeezed between the pool and dinner reservations — it means a trip built around feeling better from the moment they check in.
That shift is playing out across IHG Hotels & Resorts’ growing all-inclusive portfolio, which spans an exclusive alliance with Iberostar Beachfront Resorts along with select Holiday Inn Club Vacations and voco properties, where wellness is increasingly treated as part of the overall vacation experience rather than a standalone spa appointment or fitness activity.
The Spa Is the Centerpiece
Nowhere is that clearer than at Iberostar Selection Llaut Palma in Mallorca, where the 14,000-square-foot spa with Hydrowellness Circuit anchors the stay with saunas, a Turkish bath, an underwater bubble bed and thermal loungers, plus signature rituals such as the Ayurveda Shirodhara treatment.
In the Caribbean, JOIA Bávaro by Iberostar in Punta Cana and JOIA Aruba by Iberostar on Eagle Beach echo the same idea in warmer climates. The oceanfront Spa Sensations at JOIA Bávaro pairs thermal circuits with open-air cabanas, while JOIA Aruba’s seven treatment rooms lean on island botanicals such as aloe and coconut for a lineup of massages, facials and body rituals designed around restoring balance rather than quick pampering.
Movement Built Into the Day
The wellness trend extends well beyond treatment menus into how guests move through their day.
At JOIA Paraíso by Iberostar in Riviera Maya, that means daily cycling sessions, multi-sport studios running yoga, boot camp, Zumba, kickboxing and body pump and access to a certified personal trainer, alongside free kayaking, sailing, snorkeling and windsurfing for guests who would rather work out in the water.
JOIA Aruba layers in beachside yoga and sunrise stretch sessions overlooking an infinity pool, while JOIA Bávaro’s oceanview fitness center adds guided Pilates and recovery-focused wet areas to its cardio and strength equipment.
Even Llaut Palma, more spa-forward by design, keeps a 24/7 fitness room and bike storage on hand for guests exploring Mallorca on two wheels.
The Benefits of Loyalty
For advisors and their clients, there’s a practical wellness payoff too: Booking through IHG.com or the IHG app as an IHG One Rewards member earns points not just on the room rate but on incurred resort charges, including spa services, turning treatments booked poolside into points toward the next trip.
Taken together, these properties illustrate where all-inclusive travel is heading: less a checklist of amenities and more a stay designed, end to end, around how guests want to feel when they get home.
