Azamara Cruises is reprising its Azamara Ashore Land programs, which include pre- and post-cruise options and excursions, designed to provide guests with substantive connections to the culture, cuisine and communities of the destinations the cruise line visits.
In all, the company is introducing 17 new pre- and post-cruise land programs between 2026 and 2028, for a total of 84 in Africa, Asia, the South Pacific region of Oceania, Europe and the Americas.
“The relaunch of Azamara Ashore is a direct response to what guests have been asking for, deeper, more immersive experiences that allow them to spend more time in each destination and engage with it in a more natural, unhurried way,” said Azamara Cruises CEO Dondra Ritzenthaler.
Pre- and post- cruise options – 37 of which are unique to Azamara – include Hotel Stays, which simplify arrivals and departures with optional transfers and logistics handled end to end; two-night City Stays, and three-to- six night AzAmazing Journeys, which provide “deeper exploration in bucket-list destinations through local cuisine, cultural connection and immersive experiences ashore,” Azamara said.

Highlights include “Victoria Falls & Chobe National Park With Micato Safaris,” which transports travelers through Zimbabwe to Botswana to the iconic Victoria Falls, along with a Chobe National Park safari; and “Machu Picchu, Cusco & Hiram Bingham Train with Coltur Peru,” which explores Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley, and a journey on the famed Hiram Bingham train, with dining and an open bar.
“At Azamara, every journey is designed to be more than a passing visit; it’s an opportunity to truly connect with the places visited and the people who call them home,” Ritzenthaler said.
