AdventureSmith Explorations is offering a new way to explore Costa Rica’s southern Pacific coastline.
The company’s new “Kontiki Pura Vida” expedition cruises will give travelers a chance to explore the tropical forests, beaches and ecological reserves of Costa Rica’s least-visited coastline. Voyages will be offered aboard Kontiki Wayra, an 18-guest boutique yacht.
“The Kontiki Wayra is a brand-new addition to the very small, small-ship fleet currently exploring the southern Pacific coast of Costa Rica, and is a truly exceptional way to access this coastline,” says Todd Smith, founder and president of AdventureSmith Explorations. “Because of its size, Kontiki is also an excellent option for private charter cruises for those who want a truly customized experience with family or friends.”
Travelers can choose between 5- or 8-day trips between Quepos and Golfito. The cruises are focused on wellness, adventure and nature, with shore excursions and activities to match. Travelers can expect to kayak to mangroves, visit a Costa Rican cacao farm or watch for endangered scalloped hammerhead sharks.
The ship was fully renovated in 2021 and has large cabins with king-sized beds. Amenities include an on-board concierge, a wine cellar, indoor and outdoor bars and dining, a hot tub, a sun deck, a spa treatment room and a fitness area. Travelers can also take advantage of snorkeling gear, kayaks, stand-up paddleboards and Jet Ski “Seabobs.” The yacht also has a waterslide, a floating dock and an inflatable harbor.
Travelers who want a little more privacy can charter the yacht for private cruises with family and friends. They can also customize the menu, the activities and the bar.
